Very basic help file for using Ad-aware SE and SpyBot S&D with information on how to download and install them. This is a .doc file and can be viewed using Microsoft Word. Click here for a .txt version that can be viewed using any basic text editing program like notepad. If you right click on the above links you can choose "save target as" and download the programs to your computer to use if you are not connected to the web while running a scan in safemode.
JXD MP3 player firmware
If you own a new JXD 1 gig mp3 player with sigmatel software and it does not hold the full 1 gig you can download the current (July 2005) firmware update here. It was sent to me as a .rar compressed file and I expanded it and re-compressed it as a zip file. Both files are quite large and may take some time to download. Once downloaded you will need to use winzip or winrar to expand the files to a folder on your computer before you can load them. In Windows XP, creating and unzipping zipped files is a built-in feature.

If you try to download the .rar version of the file and you get a window or page with lots of meaningless text, click the stop button in your browser or close the window to stop the text from coming in. To get the file you can try to right click on the link and then choose "save target as" and after it has downloaded you can change the extension back to .rar.

You must make a boot disk to use this software. The .exe file for Darik's Boot & Nuke is 1.6 mb and does not fit on a floppy directly. Please download the file to your hard disk first and then, with a blank floppy in the drive run the .exe file. The program will look for your floppy and it will then create the boot disk for you.
This is the backup program used by XP pro but not loaded on XP home by Microsoft
design. It is located on the XP home CD. ASR is not supported on home
edition, please see the readme file below.
